Why jamun honey tastes darker and less obvious
A tasting-led introduction to raw jamun honey, from dark fruit and malt notes to its gently bitter finish.
Not every honey needs to taste light
Jamun Honey is the outlier in our collection. It carries dark fruit, malt and a faint bitter edge that keeps the sweetness from feeling flat. The result is closer to a contemplative after-dinner honey than a simple sugar substitute.
The name refers to nectar gathered around jamun blossom. It should not be confused with jamun fruit preserve, and we do not add fruit flavouring to the jar.
A darker jar rewards contrast
Try Jamun Honey with natural yoghurt, tahini, dark rye toast or a sharp cheese. A small spoon over vanilla ice cream makes its fruit and malt notes unusually clear.
What we will and will not say
Jamun honey attracts dramatic health claims online. We will not repeat claims we cannot substantiate. Our job is to tell you what is in the jar, describe its sensory character honestly and make the batch information available.
